Transforming the future of kidney care
We understand that nephrology faces the challenge of providing effective solutions in the treatment of kidney diseases, particularly in their pre-dialysis stages. This challenge is reflected in the growing incidence of patients progressing to end-stage CKD, with the resulting need for dialysis.
Our commitment is to lead a meaningful change in this landscape through clinical research to improve the care and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Our active participation in national and international research projects allows us to be at the forefront of developing new strategies and treatments that benefit our patients and transform the future into KIDNEY HEALTH FOR ALL.

Commitment to Excellence in Clinical Research
Through Dr. Paula Marioli's participation as a member of the International Society of Nephrology Advancing Clinical Trials (ISN-ACT) Committee, we contribute to strengthening the global nephrology community's capacity to lead and participate in clinical trials. This collaboration allows us not only to enhance the quality of the clinical trials in which we participate, but also to share our experience and learn from leading figures in the field. In this way, we advance the optimal prevention and treatment of kidney disease and its complications.
- Facilitating collaboration by connecting individuals conducting clinical trials and related studies in nephrology
- Providing a forum to discuss key scientific, operational, and analytical issues faced by clinical trial investigators in kidney diseases
- Increasing capacity to conduct high-quality clinical trials and studies in nephrology through training provided by the ISN, and by connecting experienced and novice investigators
- Developing ISN-led or supported activities that help standardize the conduct of high-quality trials in nephrology
Clinical Research at Renálida
At Renálida, clinical research is a fundamental pillar in advancing toward more effective and personalized therapies. Thanks to our model of early detection, longitudinal follow-up, and precise stratification of patients with kidney disease, we actively participate as a site in international multicenter clinical research protocols. This integration allows us to bring our patients closer to innovative, cutting-edge therapeutic alternatives, under strict ethical, regulatory, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
What is a clinical trial?
A clinical trial is a type of medical research that aims to evaluate new treatment options—such as medications, procedures, or therapies—with the goal of determining their safety and efficacy in people. These studies are essential to advancing medicine, as they allow new ways of treating various conditions to be tested and validated. Participating in a clinical trial is a personal and informed decision. Each patient must carefully consider the benefits and risks associated with participation. The health and safety of participants are the top priority, which is why rigorous protocols are implemented to protect them throughout the entire process. Clinical trials are governed by a set of ethical and legal regulations at both national and international levels. These standards ensure that studies are conducted safely and with respect for patients' rights. Before a trial begins, a comprehensive evaluation is carried out to ensure that the potential benefits of the proposed treatment outweigh any possible risks.
